Head of Finance

This position will lead financial operations for a global manufacturing company expanding into Mexico. This role requires a bilingual (English/Spanish) professional with experience in manufacturing finance and high-growth SMEs. Responsibilities include overseeing financial reporting, compliance, payroll, cash flow, and CAPEX management. Additionally, the position involves implementing an ERP system, optimizing inventory processes, and expanding the finance team in Mexico.

The company is a global manufacturer who is looking for a Head of Finance to support the company’s expansion into the Mexican market.

Qualifications & Experience

• Fully bilingual (English & Spanish) with the ability to travel to the US.
• Strong background in finance within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing financial operations in a high-growth SME.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel & Outlook) and financial accounting systems.
• Deep understanding of inventory management and financial reporting.
• CPA, CMA, or equivalent accounting qualification preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Control

• Lead a small finance team of initially 3 people to ensure precise financial reporting and control.
• Manage bookkeeping and financial compliance across multiple entities.
• Oversee payroll processes in coordination with external providers.
• Ensure effective inventory management and support operations in maintaining optimal stock levels.
• Coordinate with group teams on tax, legal, and insurance matters in the region.

Financial Planning & Reporting

• Develop monthly financial reports and consolidation packs for group reporting.
• Provide detailed margin and performance analyses.
• Conduct month-end reconciliations and ensure financial accuracy.
• Implement robust financial processes and continuous improvement strategies.

Cash Flow & Capital Expenditure Management

• Manage short-term and long-term cash flow forecasting.
• Oversee CAPEX tracking and budgeting for ongoing and new investment projects.
• Collaborate with the commercial team to optimize accounts receivable collections.

IT & Systems Implementation

• Lead local implementation of a Group-wide ERP upgrade.
• Establish advanced forecasting and MRP processes aligned with company standards.

Team Expansion & Development

• Plan and execute recruitment for key finance, IT, and procurement roles in Mexico.
• Oversee the transition of US-based finance roles to Mexico as necessary.
