AP Specialist

At Robert Walters we're currently supporting a leading international company in the search for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their finance team in Mexico City. This is a great opportunity for professionals with strong analytic skills and experience in invoice processing and vendor management in retail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
• Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents, identifying expense types (OPEX/CAPEX).
• Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain updated vendor records in the ERP system.
• Manage invoice workflows including scanning, routing, and approvals.
• Respond to inquiries from vendors and internal teams regarding payments.
• Prepare reports such as aging analysis and ad-hoc financial summaries.
• Support month-end closing activities including reconciliations and accruals.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations (VAT, withholding taxes).
• Assist in internal and external audits.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement.

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of experience in Accounts Payable or similar roles.
• SAP Key User. (is a plus)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and local regulations.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., JDE World, Esker, Concur is a plus).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
• Detail-oriented, organised, and proactive.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Advanced English level.
