Plant Finance Controller
A global automotive metal‑mechanic manufacturer, specializing in high‑precision components for critical automotive systems are seeking a Plant Controller who will play a pivotal role in guiding the plant’s financial performance and partnering with operational leadership.
The Plant Controller will serve as the financial leader for the plant, owning all aspects of plant financial management—costing, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. This is a highly strategic role that requires strong business partnership with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Corporate Finance.
It is an ideal opportunity for a finance professional with solid automotive manufacturing experience and a hands‑on approach to operational finance.
Financial Leadership
- Lead all plant-level financial and accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with corporate policies.
- Drive monthly closing, variance analysis, and management reporting.
- Present financial results and insights to plant leadership and corporate finance.
Costing & Manufacturing Finance
- Own standard costing, BOM maintenance, routings, scrap parameters, and overhead absorption.
- Analyze variances in materials, labor, efficiency, and production costs.
- Provide financial oversight for foundry and machining operations.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Build and manage the annual plant budget and rolling forecasts.
- Oversee CAPEX planning, investment evaluation, and ROI tracking.
- Support strategic planning for operational improvements.
Operational & Financial KPIs
- Monitor and analyze cost per unit, overhead spending, productivity, scrap, OEE, and other plant performance indicators.
- Work with operations to drive cost reduction, waste minimization, and margin improvement.
Business Partnering
- Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Quality.
- Provide financial insights for decision‑making and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support operational excellence and plant strategy execution.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Ensure strong internal controls over inventory, cycle counts, fixed assets, and financial processes.
- Support internal and external audits and maintain compliance with corporate standards.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA or financial specialization preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of financial experience in automotive, metal‑mechanic, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
- Strong background in standard cost accounting, plant finance, and inventory control.
- Experience in foundry or machining environments is a strong differentiator.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in SAP or equivalent ERP system.
- Advanced Excel and strong financial modeling capabilities.
- Solid understanding of IFRS or US GAAP.
Soft Skills
- Highly analytical and detail‑oriented with strong business acumen.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with cross‑functional operational leaders.
- Comfortable working in high‑volume, fast‑paced manufacturing environments.
- Strong communication and executive presence.
