Finance manager

A leading freight forwarder company is seeking its next Finance Manager to oversee critical financial operations, including accounting consolidation, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), treasury management, general accounting, financial reporting, and the financial close process. Key Responsibilities:

• Accounting Consolidation:

  • Manage the consolidation of financial statements across multiple entities and business units, ensuring compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
  • Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

• Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR):

  • Supervise the AP and AR teams, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments and collections.
  • Implement and maintain effective controls over AP and AR processes to optimise cash flow and minimise risk.

• Treasury Management:

  • Oversee the company’s cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs.
  • Manage banking relationships, including the negotiation of terms, credit facilities, and management of financial instruments.
  • Develop and execute strategies to optimise working capital and manage currency risk.

• General Accounting:

  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, maintaining robust internal controls.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of accounts and the resolution of any discrepancies.

• Financial Reporting:

  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing clear and accurate information to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

• Financial Close Process:

  • Manage the financial close process, ensuring that all deadlines are met and that the financial statements accurately reflect the company’s financial position.
  • Continuously improve the close process to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

• Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Work closely with other departments to support overall company goals and ensure financial processes align with operational needs.

Qualifications:

• MUST: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - Must hold a valid CPA license.
• MUST: Fluent in English: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
• MUST: Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the logistics or freight forwarding industry is essential.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the logistics or freight forwarding industry.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and experience with financial consolidation, AP, AR, treasury, and financial reporting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
