Coordinador de Laboratorio
Position Objective Lead and coordinate the operations of two laboratories focused on metrology, calibration, and product auditing. The role requires a balance between advanced technical expertise and strategic leadership, including planning, delegation, and team development, ensuring high-quality standards and efficient support to the production area.
Key Responsibilities

Metrology and Specialized Measurement (CMM and other precision tools):
-
Supervise and coordinate the operation of measurement equipment.

Read and interpret technical drawings and geometric tolerances.
-
Ensure compliance with laboratory standards (ISO 17025).
-
Guarantee reliability and accuracy in high-precision measurements.

Calibration:
-
Maintain and execute calibration plans for equipment.
-
Coordinate measurement system analysis (MSA) studies.
-
Ensure compliance with international technical standards.

Product Auditing and Testing:
-
Coordinate internal and external audits of products and processes.
-
Develop annual testing plans and document procedures.
-

Leadership and Administration:
-
Manage a team of 10 (3 engineers and 7 technicians), fostering delegation and professional development.

Lead strategic projects, including equipment transfers with significant annual savings (e.g., $250,000 USD).
-
Plan and prioritize laboratory activities according to production needs.

Implement continuous improvement strategies and ensure operational efficiency.

Desired Profile
Education:
-
Industrial Engineering, Mechanical/Metal-Machining Engineering, or related field.
Languages:
-
Advanced English (mandatory).
-
US visa preferred but not required.
Technical Knowledge and Experience:

Proven experience in metrology, calibration, and product auditing in ISO 17025 laboratories.

Familiarity with measurement equipment (CMM, precision tools) and laboratory standards.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and geometric tolerances (automotive industry).

Leadership experience managing technical teams and complex projects.
-
Administrative skills in budgeting, resource planning, and process improvement.
