Foreign Trade & Traffic Manager Mexico
Position Overview The Foreign Trade & Traffic Manager will be responsible for leading the entire Foreign Trade and Traffic operation in Mexico, ensuring full compliance with Mexican customs regulations while optimizing logistics operations and maintaining fiscal accuracy in all import/export processes.
This position has a strong focus on Foreign Trade (approximately 80%) and Traffic operations (20%), with a particular emphasis on IMMEX compliance, Annex 24 and Annex 30 management, and coordination with finance to ensure proper tax reporting and justification before Mexican authorities (SAT).
The role also includes leadership of a specialized team responsible for customs documentation, traffic coordination, and certification management, while overseeing operations that support multiple company branches across Mexico.
Key Responsibilities
Foreign Trade Compliance

Ensure full compliance with Mexican Foreign Trade regulations, including all applicable laws, programs and tax obligations.

Maintain and manage all government certifications and programs such as:

VAT Certification

Sectorial Programs

Special Products Review at the Source

Supervise the proper management of Annex 24 and Annex 30, ensuring accurate inventory control and traceability.

Prepare and submit reports to Mexican authorities to maintain tax and trade benefits.

Lead responses and documentation for audits from the Mexican Tax Authority (SAT).

Ensure all operations comply with USMCA (T-MEC) requirements, including documentation accuracy and timely submission.
Logistics & Traffic Management

Coordinate air shipments, charter flights, and FedEx operations.
-
Oversee border crossing logistics (inbound and outbound).
-
Manage relationships with customs brokers and freight carriers, negotiating rates and service conditions to optimize costs.

Conduct transportation market analysis to identify new logistics opportunities and improve transportation efficiency.
Financial Coordination

Work closely with the Finance department to ensure proper alignment between foreign trade operations and fiscal reporting.

Monitor and report on brokerage costs, duties, taxes, and freight expenses.

Provide weekly forecasts and monthly reporting to ensure proper management of the PECE account and tax obligations.
Operational Management

Oversee 180–250 monthly operations, primarily focused on imports with a smaller portion of export activities.

Ensure efficient coordination with multiple company branches across Mexico, particularly operations located in the northern region of the country.

Candidate Profile
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:

Professional Experience

Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial position within:

Experience in companies with high import volumes, ideally logistics or distribution-focused organizations.

Proven experience managing SAT audits and regulatory compliance.

Strong experience in customs tariff classification, duties and customs regulations.

Demonstrated experience coordinating foreign trade operations with finance departments.
Technical Knowledge
