Close internal, supplier and customer timeline management is required. Location: Puebla
Responsibilities:
- Plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products of the automotive industry and to promote efficient utilization.
- Layout planning and documentation in Auto CAD.
- Eliminate wastefulness in production processes. Devise efficient systems that integrate workers, machines, materials, information and energy to optimize production processes. Using TIMER-PRO (desirable) and MTM (Must)
- Help designing, launch automated systems. Includes writing specifications, standards of the production concept and automation in regulation with UL, ISO and related internal standards.
- Develops plans for new products including manufacturing technologies and available alternatives, investment requirements, etc
- Responsible for final approval of equipment control systems and turnover of projects to manufacturing/ production
- Track the automation integration time schedule and guarantee the deadline and the quality within the program budget, in liaison with the plant teams and PML’s in the case of new programs
- Coordinate with Maintenance to minimize downtime. Coach and teach Maintenance personnel in control systems technology
- Pro-active behavior for the acquisition, the development and the sharing of technical competencies. Coach and teach Plants (ME, Maintenance, FES, Quality, PC&L) and program teams (PML, PLM, PTE)
- Confer with clients, vendors, staff regarding purchases, product and production specifications, manufacturing capabilities, or project status.
- Travel up to 30% of the time (Mexico- USA/ USA- Mexico)
- Propose continuous improvement ideas in business efficiency and cost reduction
- Capitalizes on knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within the site
- All other duties as assigned by the company.
Authorities:
- As Automation Project Engineer ensures that technical solutions are implemented
- Assist operations with emerging automation issues
- Coach and teach operations personal about the technologies and equipment
- Manage the new automation projects from concept to launch
- Participate in CARco’s with Automation equipment
- Lead Steerco’s for automation equipment.
Knowledge / Skills:
- Must have in-depth knowledge of manufacturing control systems and project management. This includes PLC's, Robotics and Computer applications, assembly techniques, FMEA, risk management, and contingency planning
- Must be capable of working without supervision and with a wide variety of people from the shop floor to senior managers, vendors, suppliers
- Excellent communications skills (English and Spanish)
- Proficient in MS Excel, Power Point, Project
- Ability to train others in the activities as Automation Project Engineer.
Education / Experience:
- Minimum BS Degree in Engineering or Technical discipline Degree or concentration in an Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field)
- Minimum 5 years automotive manufacturing experience related to automation and project launch.
Important:
- English advance is required (the position report to USA)
- Preferable to live in Puebla or near to location.
