Overview

As an Electrical Designer is responsible for the preparation of design and detail drawings of industrial control panel (wiring schematic drawings, single line diagram, and panel layout) for industrial heating equipment. Candidate with working knowledge with CSA and UL standard, hazardous location classification and requirement is an asset. General industrial knowledge with control panel components will be required.

Primary Duties as an Electrical Designer

• Review technical specifications; prepare designs for engineered control panels and specific projects as assigned.
• Prepare material lists, specification sheets, and detail manufacturing drawings.
• Prepare technical document and IFC (issue for construction) document packages for the manufacturing department.
• Provide engineering and technical support to various departments within the company.
• Respond to and address production questions from production.
• Maintain computer data files and document records.

Qualifications

• Diploma in electrical engineering technology or electrical drafting and design.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical.
• Experience with other panel design software (such as EPLAN, See Electrical).
• Working knowledge CEC and NEC is an asset.

Skills

• Able to function effectively in a team environment.
• Able to plan, prioritize, and organize workload.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Familiarity with Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Good problem solving skills.
• Strong electrical aptitude.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Able to cope with fast paced environment is a must.
