A company that specialises in the design, manufacture, and sale of pressure control equipment and systems for the oil and gas drilling industry is looking for its next Material Manager in Veracruz
Overview as a Material Manger
Materials managers have experience in supply chain and inventory control. They are characterised by excellent organisational and record-keeping skills. Attention to detail and problem-solving aptitude are qualities the ideal candidate must possess. The goal is to ensure our operations have always an adequate flow of the material they need. A materials manager is responsible for managing inventory and purchasing procedures of raw materials and other supplies within a company. Material managers collaborate with other managers to determine supply needs, purchase supplies and materials according to specifications and coordinate and supervise receiving procedures. Materials managers work in a variety of settings, however, warehouses are where they are most employed.
Functions and responsibilities as a Material Manger
- Maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements
- Support for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery
- Establishes procedures and supervises the annual physical inventory
- Supervise, evaluate and coach staff members
- Interfaces with product line coordinators on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments
- Purchase supplies and materials according to specifications
- Ensures that the company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all materials department functions.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers
- Keep detailed records on supply materials activity, materials quantity, specifications, Labor and material cost. .
- Assist in forecasting to plan future orders.
Qualifications
- 3+ year's experience in the role or related experience
- Internal Auditor with experience in API & ASME standards
- Ability to lead team members
- Customer service-oriented
- Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems
- Knowledgeable of forecasting and budgeting
- Ability to solve problems swiftly
- Working knowledge of SAP MM
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Relocating to Veracruz

- Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
