What you'll do:


As a Test Engineer based in Celaya, you will be entrusted with overseeing the implementation and continual improvement of offline SMT manufacturing processes such as ICT, Fly in probe, and Pre-programming. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams to define production parameters, validate new equipment installations, and optimise process flows. You will be responsible for ensuring technical availability of equipment across all shifts by managing preventive maintenance schedules and troubleshooting issues promptly. Your role will also include developing detailed instructions for technicians, supporting new product introductions through rigorous testing protocols, and maintaining high standards of quality compliance. Success in this position requires proactive engagement in daily yield reviews, root cause analysis for recurring issues, participation in periodic training sessions on ESD protection areas, and adherence to health & safety regulations. By leveraging your expertise in electronics testing methodologies and quality management systems, you will drive operational excellence while contributing positively to the communal goals of the organisation.


* Define, acquire, transfer, accept, validate, release, and install production processes and equipment according to established standards, ensuring seamless integration into the manufacturing environment.
* Fulfil APQP planning requirements by conducting EWAK runs, Pre-PV’s PV, and SOP activities to support new product introductions and process improvements.
* Actively participate with manufacturing planning teams on projects and new releases, collaborating closely with lead plant and development teams for process definition and product handling.
* Establish process parameters based on development specifications and standards from DMDs, VVTs, VA, DI, ensuring accurate documentation and display of these parameters.
* Determine equipment spare parts needs and apply TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities including scheduling maintenance tasks and delivering relevant training sessions.
* Utilise company standards to modify processes through PCRs and ECRs while participating in PFMEA and Control Plan development for both new and existing processes.
* Define test coverage for ICT processes to ensure comprehensive validation of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBs) using advanced testing methodologies.
* Conduct daily reviews of % FPY (First Pass Yield), identify top offenders, implement corrective actions, manage OPLs (One Point Lessons), review reincertion material, and perform Nu Rel reviews.
* Take responsibility for MSA studies related to ICT, Fly in probe, Pre-programming processes as well as active participation in CN meetings for process improvement.
* Ensure compliance with HSE instructions, procedures, training plans related to legal requirements and actively contribute to ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 objectives.

You possess a bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics or Electronics along with hands-on experience working within manufacturing environments where precision testing of PCBs is paramount. You are adept at communicating complex ideas clearly across departments—both internally among colleagues at various levels and externally when liaising with suppliers. Your skillset includes advanced programming capabilities for ICT systems like SPEA 3030 as well as maintenance expertise that keeps critical equipment running smoothly. Your attention to detail extends beyond technical tasks into workspace organisation using 5S principles while your proficiency in 3D modelling supports innovative solutions during product development cycles. * Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics or Electronics is required; candidates with 1-3 years’ experience in similar roles are preferred.
* Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication within internal teams as well as external suppliers; additional language skills are desirable.
* Comprehensive understanding of ISO9001 and IATF16949 quality management systems is necessary for maintaining compliance throughout all processes.
* Hands-on experience with digital electronics including design, analysis, troubleshooting of circuits involving logic gates, flip-flops, microcontrollers is highly valued.
* Expertise in electronic components selection such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors; ability to integrate them into complex assemblies is expected.
* Demonstrated ability to develop or implement electronic control units for automotive applications ensuring efficient operation under stringent conditions.
* Advanced skills in programming SPEA 3030 ICT systems including debugging test programs for PCB assemblies; familiarity with fixture maintenance is advantageous.
* Experience programming flying probe test systems for prototype validation (NPI), failure analysis or low-volume production adds significant value.
* Mastery of core automotive quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA) is crucial for designing robust products that meet industry standards.
* Ability to implement 5S methodology for workspace organisation leading to improved productivity; proficiency in 3D modelling software is beneficial.
