Head of Finance

Looking for a Head of Finance that will lead and oversee all financial activities of the company in Mexico, ensuring strong financial performance, liquidity, and full compliance with local accounting and tax regulations. This role will act as a key strategic partner to the business, providing financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making, drive growth, and enhance overall profitability.

Responsabilities:

• Oversee accounting, payroll, billing, and tax compliance processes (including VAT and withholding taxes), currently outsourced to external providers, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full regulatory compliance.
• Review and validate monthly closings, bank reconciliations, and financial statements prepared by third parties.
• Ensure compliance with Mexican tax and accounting regulations (SAT, NIF) with external teams.
• Prepare and deliver accurate and timely financial reporting to management and shareholders.
• Develop, monitor, and control budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Perform in-depth financial analysis (profitability, cost, and cash flow), identifying efficiencies and improvement opportunities.
• Provide actionable financial insights and act as a strategic business partner to support decision-making.
• Manage treasury and liquidity, ensuring sufficient cash flow for daily operations.
• Optimize cash management and oversee relationships with banking institutions, including monitoring debt and credit lines.
• Implement and supervise cost and expense control policies, ensuring financial discipline in a startup environment.
• Conduct profitability analysis by product, service, or business line.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring transparency and compliance.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
• Act as the key financial advisor to management, providing deep analytical insight and challenging assumptions when needed.

Requirements and Competencies

• Proven experience to manage and coordinate financial, accounting, tax and legal issues in Mexico. In particular, in-depth knowledge of Mexican tax and accounting regulations (SAT, NIF, etc.).
• Experience in a high demanding and fast-paced environment
• Minimum 6 years of experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Financial Management, Economics, or a related field
• Advanced English proficiency.
