AP Team Lead

From Robert Walters, we are seeking for a Team Lead – Accounts Payable to join a leading multinational organization. This position will be responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable function, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement while leading a team of AP professionals in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounts Payable team, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
• Oversee the end-to-end AP process, including invoice processing, payment execution, vendor management, and reconciliations.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end close activities related to Accounts Payable.
• Monitor compliance with internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements.
• Manage escalations and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
• Analyze AP metrics and KPIs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Drive process optimization, automation initiatives, and standardization efforts.
• Support internal and external audits by ensuring proper documentation and process adherence.
• Collaborate closely with Procurement, Treasury, Accounting, and Finance teams to improve operational efficiency.
• Participate in transition, transformation, and continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience within Accounts Payable or Finance Operations.
• Previous experience leading teams within a Shared Services Center or multinational environment.
• Strong understanding of Accounts Payable processes, financial controls, and accounting principles.
• Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JDE, or similar.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).
