Finance Site Leader
From Robert Walters, we are seeking an experienced Accounting Site Leader to join a rapidly growing international organization building and expanding its finance operations in Mexico. This role will serve as the most senior accounting leader in the country, acting as the key bridge between local operations and US-based finance leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance Leadership
- Lead and oversee all accounting activities conducted from the Mexico site, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial information.
- Act as the primary accounting leader and trusted business partner for global finance stakeholders.

Establish priorities, resource allocation, and workflows aligned with corporate reporting deadlines and business objectives.

Proactively identify risks, operational gaps, and improvement opportunities while developing practical solutions.
Accounting Operations
- Oversee the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, billing, fixed assets, and month-end close activities.
- Support financial reporting requirements and ensure compliance with local accounting standards and corporate policies.

Manage cross-border accounting activities, including intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and reporting requirements.

Provide technical accounting guidance and personally participate in complex accounting activities when required.
Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Mexican tax and regulatory obligations, including statutory reporting and filing requirements.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, consultants, financial institutions, and regulatory authorities.

Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and governance practices across the function.
Team Management & Process Improvement
- Lead, mentor, and develop a growing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Drive automation, standardization, and process optimization initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including HR, Payroll, Procurement, and Operations to ensure financial accuracy and business alignment.

Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably including experience within multinational environments.

Proven experience leading and developing accounting teams.

Experience supporting US-based entities and exposure to US reporting requirements.

Strong knowledge of Mexican accounting principles, tax regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.

Working knowledge of US GAAP.

Fluency in English and Spanish.

Experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar.
