As Plant Manager, you will be entrusted with the overall performance of a facility employing approximately 1,000 associates, positioning you at the heart of the company’s regional ambitions. The organisation values flexibility, continuous learning, and a culture of accountability—making this an ideal environment for those who thrive on driving sustainable growth and preparing teams for future. If you are ready to operate as a true General Manager—balancing manufacturing execution with strategic business leadership—this is your chance to make a lasting impact while developing your career towards broader regional responsibilities.

  • Take charge of a major automotive manufacturing operation with over 1,000 employees and direct responsibility for a high-performing leadership team.
  • Shape the future of the plant by integrating operational excellence initiatives with strategic business objectives and cross-functional decision-making.
  • Enjoy a collaborative workplace that prioritises safety, quality, people development, and offers opportunities for professional growth within a multicultural environment.

What you'll do:

As Plant Manager in San Luis Potosí, you will play an instrumental role in shaping the direction of one of the region’s most important automotive manufacturing facilities. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve balancing hands-on operational oversight with high-level strategic planning. You will guide your team towards achieving ambitious targets in safety, quality, delivery timelines, cost efficiency, and talent development. By fostering close collaboration between departments such as Purchasing, Finance, HR, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain Management, you will ensure seamless integration of business functions. Your ability to build strong relationships with global OEM customers will be crucial in maintaining outstanding service standards. Additionally, you will lead initiatives focused on continuous improvement using lean methodologies while upholding rigorous compliance with environmental regulations. Success in this role requires not only technical expertise but also the interpersonal skills needed to inspire your team and represent the plant confidently during executive engagements.

  • Own the overall profit and loss performance of the plant, ensuring all financial targets are met or exceeded through effective resource allocation and cost management.
  • Lead all aspects of manufacturing operations to achieve key objectives in safety, quality, delivery, cost control, and people development while fostering a supportive work environment.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive strategic plans that align with both immediate operational needs and long-term business growth objectives.
  • Build and nurture a high-performance leadership team by mentoring direct reports and enhancing organizational capabilities across all levels.
  • Drive operational excellence initiatives throughout all manufacturing processes by implementing lean methodologies and standardized management systems.
  • Cultivate strong customer relationships with global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), ensuring exceptional service delivery and proactive issue resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with Purchasing, Finance, Human Resources, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain teams to optimise overall business performance through shared goals.
  • Lead complex problem-solving efforts and crisis management activities—including customer escalations—by deploying structured containment actions and root cause analysis.
  • Champion continuous improvement by embedding lean manufacturing principles into daily operations and promoting a culture of ongoing learning among staff.
  • Represent the plant during corporate reviews, executive meetings, and customer visits by articulating achievements, challenges, and future plans effectively.

Your educational foundation—ideally combining engineering expertise with advanced business studies—will enable you to navigate multifaceted challenges spanning production efficiency to financial stewardship. You bring a history of successfully guiding large teams through periods of transformation while nurturing talent at every level. Your approach is grounded in data-driven decision-making complemented by cultural adaptability gained from working within multinational organisations. With a keen eye for process optimisation and an unwavering commitment to safety standards, you are adept at steering cross-functional teams toward shared objectives. Your ability to manage high-stakes customer interactions ensures that service excellence remains at the forefront even during challenging situations. Above all else, your leadership style is defined by empathy, resilience under pressure, sound judgement when facing complexity—and an enduring passion for developing others.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline is required; MBA or postgraduate studies are highly desirable for broader business acumen.
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience within automotive manufacturing environments demonstrating progressive responsibility across multiple functions.
  • At least 6 years’ proven success leading large-scale manufacturing plants as Plant Manager or General Manager overseeing more than 950 employees.

  • Deep understanding of program management principles including successful product launches within complex industrial settings.
  • Expertise in Lean Manufacturing practices as well as world-class operational excellence frameworks tailored to automotive industry standards.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of automotive quality systems alongside robust familiarity with manufacturing management systems.
