Leadership in Tax: Diversity & Inclusion in Tax: Breakfast Roundtable

The Robert Walters Tax division had the pleasure of hosting a Leaders in Tax Breakfast Roundtable on Wednesday 13^th March.

We were joined by three guest speakers: Rhonda Martin (Regional Director at the Center for Creative Leadership), Kieron O’Reilly (Employer Engagement Manager at the Employers Network for Equality & Inclusion) and Liese Lord (Founder at The Lightbulb Tree) – who gave us knowledge and practical insights into achieving a diverse and inclusive workforce for the tax sector in a changing economic landscape.

A range of topics was discussed, including:

• The 2019 Gender Pay Gap Report
• The Government and CIPD's joint 'Flexible Working Task Force' initiative
• Strategies to enhance your team's talent attraction and engagement

Vulnerability in Leadership: Panel Event 
Thursday 7th March 2019

As part of our ongoing Empowering Women in the Workplace campaign, Robert Walters, in partnership with Women in Banking and Finance had the pleasure of hosting a ‘Vulnerability in Leadership’ event on Thursday 7th March 2019 at the Radisson Blu hotel in Birmingham. We were delighted to have hosted an expert panel of five professionals from various backgrounds, who shared their thoughts and experiences. We were joined by Mary Kaye (Partner at Shakespeare Martineau LLP), Chiz Onuora (COO - Finance at HSBC), Pam Rowland (COO at Paragon Banking Group), Helen Lumb (CFO at Shire Leasing) and Roger Dix (CRO at Wesleyan).

Robert Walters hosted an event with support from guest speakers Rhonda Martin, Regional Director at the Centre for Creative Leadership and Erica Sonsa, CEO and Career Navigation Coach at Career Matters who will give us some insightful knowledge regarding leaders in tax and treasury.

Empowering Women Panel Event - Gender Diversity and culture change in the workplace

Robert Walters hosted a four panel Empowering Women in the Workplace breakfast event at the Ivy Club in Covent Garden. Our panel of business and diversity leaders (Rhonda Martin, Sunaina Sinha, Erica Sosna and Kieron O'Reilly) discussed key topics relating to gender diversity and cultural change in the workplace.

We were joined by Amanda Murphy (HSBC), Parminder Fells (Deutsche Bank), Joanne Hanley (Lloyds Banking Group and WiBF Board Member), Melanie Williams (DWF), Julia Lowe (Higgs & Sons) who discussed their thoughts on mentoring.

For the launch of the latest Robert Walters whitepaper, The Value of Mentoring: Empowering Women in the Workplace, we held an event at Robert Walters head office in Covent Garden. Rhonda Martin, Board Member of City Women’s Networks and Regional Director of Center of Creative Leadership - UK, Ireland and Nordics, spoke on the role mentoring can play in attracting and retaining women in your business, including case studies of successful mentoring programmes.

Empowering Women Breakfast - Closing the Gender Pay Gap

Robert Walters provided an opportunity to hear from Sally Bucknell, Director of Diversity and inclusiveness at Ernst & Young on how she is addressing and actioning the subject of closing the gender pay gap. Sally is Director of Diversity & Inclusiveness at EY and has over 25 years of experience in HR roles and leads on change and organisational development.

Empowering Women in the Workplace - Diversity, Mentoring & Leadership Networking Evening

We were delighted to have secured an expert panel of four professionals from various industry backgrounds, who offered their thoughts and experiences around the challenges faced by women in business. There were two sessions on the evening. One around the benefits of a structured mentoring programme to support the development of women into senior positions. The second discussed ways in which companies can encourage women into leadership positions.
