Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Strategy Manager to lead and enhance the strategic and operational activities of their Container Terminal. (Sector: Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain) In this critical role, you will oversee the planning and execution of operational cycles, ensuring the terminal operates efficiently while maintaining a competitive edge in the industry. What you'll do:
As an Operations Strategy Manager, your role will be pivotal in shaping the strategic direction of our client's Container Terminal. You will be responsible for developing and implementing an effective operational strategy that aligns with the long-term vision of the terminal. Your expertise in identifying process improvements will be crucial in enhancing operational efficiency across various areas. You will also play a key role in fostering collaboration between teams by serving as the primary point of contact for coordination and communication. Your commitment to safety will be reflected in all operational processes under your purview.
* Develop, implement, and oversee the terminal’s operational strategy to ensure efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness.
* Identify, monitor, and implement improvements in operational processes across the control room and terminal operations.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for coordination and communication between the terminal operations team and the Senior Planning Committee (SPC).
* Regularly track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance.
* Drive the adoption of new technologies and innovative practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
* Maintain a strong focus on safety within all operational processes.
* Lead and mentor a high-performing team within the control room.
What you bring:
As an Operations Strategy Manager, you bring a wealth of experience in managing operations within a container terminal or logistics environment. Your academic background in Business, Operations Management or Logistics equips you with the necessary knowledge to excel in this role. Your proven ability to strategically plan and execute initiatives has led to significant improvements in operational performance in your previous roles. Your familiarity with performance monitoring tools enables you to effectively track KPIs relevant to terminal operations. Your knowledge of the latest innovations in container terminal technologies and best practices will be instrumental in driving operational efficiency.
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Logistics, or related field (Master’s preferred). (Sector: Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain)
* 5+ years of experience in operations management within a container terminal or logistics environment.
* Proven track record in strategic planning and execution.
* Ability to lead cross-functional teams with strong coordination and communication skills.
* Familiarity with performance monitoring tools and KPIs relevant to terminal operations.
* Knowledge of the latest innovations in container terminal technologies and best practices.
* Strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
